Open Spaces was commissioned to prepare an informal Landscape & Visual Impact Assessment and BS 5837 compliant tree survey and associated reports for this site lying adjacent to the Flitch Way at Takeley, Essex, to support and inform a proposal comprising the construction of 37 residential properties to include associated landscape, open space and play provision.
Comprising former paddock land, generally unmanaged the site was considered for its landscape character in relation to its present contextual relationship with the surrounding area.
In response to the Assessment, the initial mitigation strategy included retention and reinforcement of existing vegetation, and the implementation of a landscape buffer and shelterbelt which would augment and benefit existing habitats and biodiversity.
